History of State University of New York at Brockport

SUNY Brockport was established in 1867 as the Brockport Collegiate Institute. It became a state normal school in 1869, and was later renamed Brockport State Teachers College. It officially became a four-year college in 1942, and in 1948, it joined the State University of New York (SUNY) system.
